O Emmy 2020 foi histórico, pois apresentou bastante diversidade por conta de seu número recorde de séries com mulheres protagonistas e indicações de atores negros.
Com diversas surpresas em seus vencedores, a cerimônia do Emmy deste ano foi diferente do usual, uma vez que a pandemia do Novo Coronavírus (Covid-19) mudou o formato da premiação.
Schitt’s Creek e Zendaya foram as grandes e agradáveis surpresas da noite, com a série de comédia levando incrivelmente todas as categorias das quais disputou.
Na categoria de Melhor Atriz em Série de Drama, a jovem cantora e atriz que estrelou os filmes do Homem-Aranha da nova geração junto com Tom Holland foi o grande destaque.
Succession e Watchmen saíram de mãos cheias com diversos prêmios. O destaque negativo para The Marvelous Mrs Maisel que saiu sem nenhuma estatueta, mesmo com indicações em todas categorias do segmento de comédia.
